Dick Eassom is a Vice President at SM&A, a certified APMP Fellow, past APMP Chief Executive Officer, recipient of the APMP Founders’ Award, and presenter at 14 APMP Annual International Conferences on using Microsoft Word for proposal development. Dick has authored over 40 articles for “Wordman’s Production Corner” in the APMP Perspective, and has 20 years’ experience developing and leading proposals of all shapes and sizes to a wide variety of market sectors in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and Germany.
Steve is Senior Manager of Proposal Operations at Aerojet Rocketdyne, leading staff at four U.S. centers in the development of proposals for rockets, space and missile propulsion systems, energy and advanced applications. He has a 30+ year career in aerospace/defense high-tech proposals. Steve is certified at the professional level and has been an active member of APMP since 1997. His association experience includes membership on APMPs Board of Directors; Chapter Liaison and Professional Development committees; serving as California Chapter Chair and supporting the chapter in other positions; planning and supporting the chapter’s annual training day; and attendance at nearly all APMP annual conferences since becoming a member.
Mitch Boretz, APMP Fellow, is Technical Communication Specialist for the Bourns College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside, which produces more than 500 proposals per year for contracts and grants. Mitch has been an elected and ex-officio member of the APMP California chapter’s board for more than 15 years and is serving as Secretary for 2017-18. He has presented at several APMP international conferences and published articles in the APMP Journal.
Since 2008, she has been facilitating training for implementing the Business Acquisition Process at Northrop Grumman. In 2015 she was the recipient of the President’s Leadership Award for Innovation and Affordability by Northrop Grumman and in 2016 she was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).
Anita champions diversity inclusion at Northrop Grumman by engaging with executive leadership, business development and all functional organizations within Northrop Grumman to build a diverse workforce, inspire innovation and grow the business. Her commitment to workforce engagement is highlighted by her leadership in the development and sustainment of diversity inclusion in multiple domains. 2016 she received the prestigious Industry Corporate Responsibility Award at the Women of Color STEM Conference; and to recognize her passion for expanding opportunities for people with disabilities, she was inducted into the Susan M. Daniels Mentoring Hall of Fame.
Anita received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a master’s degree from California State University, Northridge in Educational Psychology. She is an APMP Professional Certified Proposal Management Professional, and is certified by Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Jean Toler, CF APMP, is a Proposal Manager with Mott MacDonald in Northern California with more than 16 years of sales and marketing experience, including 13 years as a proposal and marketing professional in the A/E/C industry. She leads the development of multi-million dollar engineering, construction, and design-build proposals for major transportation, environmental remediation, energy and sustainability, and other infrastructure projects. Her expertise includes directing multidiscipline teams through the proposal development process from initial pursuit strategy and proposal development through to interview prep and execution.
Jean is a skilled communicator and regularly coaches interview teams in presentations using the latest technologies, working with presenters and graphic artists to develop content and create appealing visuals. She specializes in translating technical features to non-technical audiences, turning strengths into competitive advantages. Jean maintains a Foundation level certification with APMP and has been involved in the organization since 2007. She served as Chapter Secretary for NorCal APMP and California APMP from 2012-2016 and is currently serving a new term as Treasurer.
Professional Development Director – Krystn Gull, CP APMP, LEED AP
Krystn Gull is the regional marketing manager for Burns & McDonnell’s California operations. Her nearly 15-year career has been dedicated to developing and implementing holistic sales and pursuit processes that align with industry best practices and win work. Krystn has a passion for sharing her knowledge through presentations, training, and mentoring. She regularly serves as a trainer and workshop leader in her roles at work and throughout the proposal industry.
Krystn has had an array of roles within APMP, beginning with the National Capital Chapter in 2008. She was president of the Greater Midwest Chapter for two terms, where she led the planning efforts for the chapter’s first and second annual regional symposiums. Most recently, she was the Greater Midwest Chapter professional development chair and oversaw the chapter’s mentorship program.
Krystn is also involved with APMP International and served a two-year term on the board of directors. She currently leads the chapter liaison committee, responsible for giving chapter leaders the tools and guidance they need to better serve their members. She also actively participates on the business committee.
Member Events/Webinar Coordinator – Donnette Uhl, APMP CF
Currently serving as the Director of Proposal Development for PRIDE Industries, a a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit social enterprise dedicated to creating meaningful jobs for people with disabilities.
Donnette brings more than 23 years of experience working as a marketing consultant in multi-office/multi-disciplinary environments, leading diverse teams in internal marketing efforts on development/finance, programming/planning, design, engineering, and construction management pursuits in the international, federal, state, county, local municipality and private sectors. She is a skilled communicator who can lead program teams through internal and external communications and marketing programs to successfully meet business development goals.
Her experience includes strategic planning, market research for trends and political facts, proposal and technical writing, multi-media presentations, development of specialty marketing collateral items, development of training programs, corporate identity packages, graphic design, production, and public relations / community outreach campaigns. She is experienced in defining projects needs and then managing and coordinating activities with project stakeholders including agency representatives, owners, consultants, administrators, construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors and public outreach committees.
Cynthia Mastro, CF APMP, currently supervises a highly effective team of proposal managers at VSP Vision Care. She has 18 years’ experience working on every aspect of proposals. She has presented on the topics of proposals, branding, executive summaries, workload capacity, online proposals, online print vendors, and utilizing knowledge bases. She has been involved in APMP for 10 years. She served as Chapter Chair for NorCal APMP from 2008-2012, Vice President for California APMP from 2013-2014, and served as Chapter Chair of California APMP.
Jenna Beck, CF APMP, is a seasoned proposal management professional with eight years of tenure. Jenna specializes in full bid life-cycle management, process improvement, and performance measurement. Her experience includes proposal efforts for IT staffing, professional services, managed print services, digital signage solutions, and biometrics. She served as the APMP California chapter as social media/marketing chair from 2013-2015.
Heather Kirkpatrick, Business Development Coordinator at PRIDE Industries, currently supports the Business Development and Proposal teams with business and proposal development, competitive research, business intelligence, compliance, and best practices. She participates in the startup of new non-federal contracts for Integrated Facilities Services, including large counties, state agencies and airports. Heather has more than 20 years of experience in Business and Proposal Development, Proposal and Project Coordination, Productions and Management, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Desktop Publishing, Non-Profit Organizations and Community Outreach. She has been a speaker on Adobe Acrobat to the Sacramento Adobe Users Group and has trained on Adobe Acrobat, Document Management, Microsoft Office, and more! to make proposal development easier.
